After seeing #Sachin's farewell speech, it finally sunk into me that Sachin is no longer going to grace the cricket field. It would have been really difficult for him to say goodbye to cricket which was a part of his life for 24 years.
My first memories of cricket is that of a 16 year old Indian boy hitting Abdul Qadir those 6s in some Indo-Pak friendly match. I think I was in class 3 then. Now after 24 years, that boy bids farewell to cricket after achieving God's status. There are many great cricketers-- Lara, Ponting, Dravid to name a few.But no cricketer could ever achieve so much love and adulation that Tendulkar got from the people all over the world. That is because he has been such a gentleman..so humble. Success can get over one's head and make one arrogant. The greatness of Sachin is in the fact that he handled success so well. He never let success take control of him.
That farewell speech of Sachin was so heart-touching. He has been a part of our lives for 24 years..and he understands that...I think we should name a star in the sky after #sachin :)
